"Las Casitas: An Urban Cultural Alternative" taught viewers about the vernacular architecture of Puerto Rico. The exhibit, located in the Arts and Industries Building, opened to the public during the first year of the Experimental Gallery's first year of operation. Historic Images of the Smithsonian


The Gallery opened of February 1, 1991 for the purpose of giving museum professionals a "laboratory" to explore exhibition development, context and design, marketing and accessibility strategies and closed on March 25, 1994.
