Summary

A new gallery opens to display one of the National Museum of American History's most treasured icons--the Star-Spangled Banner, the flag that inspired our national anthem. Along with ensuring its long-term preservation, the exhibition presents the history of the flag and evokes its significance as a national symbol. The new display is part of the reopening of the National Museum of American History after an extensive renovation.
