Summary

Carey Winfrey is appointed Editor-in-Chief of Smithsonian magazine. He is the third Editor-in-Chief of the magazine, since its founding in 1970, replacing Donald B. Moser. Previously he was a reporter for The New York Times and Time magazine. He serves as editor until September 30, 2011, and is succeeded by Michael Caruso in 2012.
