Summary

Letter from Francis M. Levison, a former student of Henry's, to Joseph Henry, then a professor at Princeton University and later first Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution, December 29, 1846. In the letter, Levison congratulates Henry on his recent appointment as Secretary of the Smithsonian, and praises his intellect, kindness, and work ethic. He thanks Henry for his instruction while attending Princeton, and wishes him well in his new undertaking.
