Summary

The Division of Military History of the National Museum of History and Technology acquires a folding camp stool used by George Washington during the American Revolution. It was purchased by funds made available from private sources at auction by Southeby Parke Bernet, Inc. Also purchased were several pieces of jewelry and accessories once owned by Martha Washington, to be displayed in the First Ladies' Hall.
