Ann Leven, Treasurer of the Smithsonian Institution, uses the first Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) installed near the gift shop entrance in the National Air and Space Museum. Two other machines were subsequently installed in the National Museum of Natural History and the National Museum of American History.
