Summary

The cover to Eugene A. Schwarz's Travel Log which he kept on a trip to the Canal Zone, Panama, as part of the Smithsonian Institution's sponsored Biological Survey of the Panama Canal Zone. Eugene A. Schwarz (1844 - 1928), was an entomologist who, in 1878, obtained a post with the Department of Agriculture, a function he kept until his death in 1928. He was stationed throughout his career at the Smithsonian Institution's Division of Insects, United States National Museum, now the National Museum of Natural History, and played a very important role in the organization of its insect collections.
