Summary

The Alexander Hamilton Customs House in New York City, which would become the George Gustav Heye Center of the National Museum of the American Indian, prior to its renovation. The George Gustav Heye Center of the National Museum of the American Indian opened October 30, 1994. The 1907 Customs House is a Beaux Arts building designed by architect Cass Gilbert.
