Summary

Image of a section of a Chinese scroll with "Four Poems" on it by Wu K'uan (1436-1504), a Ming dynasty poet and calligrapher. The scroll is part of the Freer Gallery of Art's Chinese Calligraphy Collection. The Freer acquired the collection on November 2, 1979, through the Smithsonian Board of Regents' program for acquisitions of outstanding quality. It includes 12 hanging and hand scrolls and is the Freer's first acquisition under the 5-year program established in 1978 by the Regents.
