Summary

The Smithsonian assumes occupancy of four floors of the facility at 1111 North Capitol Street and consolidates three SI facilities: 1242 24th Street, 701 Lamont Street, and Building No. 3., Alexandria (General Services Administration storage depot). The North Capitol Street building includes the Supply Division (which had been in the NHB), Marine Mammal Collection (NMNH, NHB), International Exchange Service (which had been at 24th St.), the Publications Distribution Section (24th St.), Exhibits Central Facilites (from 24th St. and NMNH), and the SITES publications storage facilites (Barney Studio House). Divisions inhabiting space on Lamont Street (including SMS, AAA, SIL, NCFA, OPPS and TSA), as well as the Silver Hill motor pool facilities, would move later.
