Summary

Alexander Wetmore and Antonio at Puerto Pina, located on the west coast of Panama on the Pacific Ocean, Darien, Panama, stand in front of a horse in a wooded area. Both men are holding rifles. Antonio was one of Wetmore's local assistants. The image was taken by Sixth Smithsonian Secretary and ornithologist Alexander Wetmore while on a scientific expedition to Panama to study birds for his book, "The Birds of Panama."
