Watson Perrygo (left), Cristobal Sánchez (inside jeep), and Ratibor Hartmann (right) at Ana Luz, south of Chepo, Panama, stand beside a jeep that has an Explorers Club flag hanging off its side. Sánchez is in the jeep. Perrygo and Hartmann stand outside of the jeep holding two of the birds that they collected. Hartmann and Sánchez assisted Perrygo, taxidermist at the United States National Museum, and Alexander Wetmore, sixth Smithsonian Secretary and ornithologist, on their scientific field trips to Panama.
