James Zetek, entomologist and resident director at Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI), and Watson M. Perrygo, National Museum of Natural History taxidermist, are standing on a dock at the landing for Drayton House on Barro Colorado Island, Canal Zone, Panama. Alongside the dock are two boats, one a canoe and the other a larger boat, the US Moon with a covered seating area. A United States flag flies from the stern of the boat.
