As viewed from the balcony, dignitaries and invited guests have gathered in the Rotunda of the United States National Museum's National History Building, now the National Museum of Natural History, to view the unveiling of the Fénykövi elephant. Donated by José Fénykövi, the elephant is the largest land mammal in the world on display at the time of its unveiling.
