Summary

George Brown Goode provisionally organizes the National Museum into Divisions with subclasses of departments. The Division of Administration is the largest, with eleven departments. By 1884, this Division will be reported as having fifteen departments. A Division of Anthropology is created with three departments: Arts and Industry; Races of Men; and Antiquities.
