Summary

Betty J. Landrum is appointed director of the Smithsonian Oceanographic Sorting Center (SOSC), located in the Navy Yard Annex. A rotating directorship was initiated at SOSC on a trial basis, so the appointment was to last for one year. She served as a biologist with SOSC since 1965, and acting director since August 1973.
