Summary

Brooke Hindle becomes Director of the National Museum of History and Technology (now the National Museum of American History), succeeding Daniel J. Boorstin, who remained on the staff as Senior Historian. A historian of technology, Hindle had served on the faculty of New York University since 1950. He serves as director until 1978.
