Templado standing in his cayuco, Río San Juan, Coiba Island on January 21, 1956. Templado was a member of Alexander Wetmore's scientific expedition in the region. The cayuco is next to the grassy shore and has a motor, which is raised out of the water. An oar, a gas can, an overturned bucket, and some rope all lay in the boat.
