  • Miss Rolfs is the daughter of Peter Henry Rolfs of the Esculea Superior de Agricultura e Veterinaria do Estado de Minas Geraes, Brazil.
  • Mary Agnes Chase, a botanist with the United States Department of Agriculture and honorary curator of the Grass Herbarium at the United States National Herbarium, Smithsonian Institution, made several expeditions to Brazil to collect botanical specimens for the United States National Herbarium at the Smithsonian.
