Summary

Aerial image of the National Museum of Natural History's Rotunda shows the 10-ton Fénykövi Elephant in the center while visitors stroll around the museum floor. Engineer Peter C. Metzelar of the Office of Plant Services took the photograph at the very top of the museum with his Canon 50 mm lens on July 31, 1981. A few weeks of refurbishing the elephant's skin had just been completed. The photo won an award.
