Summary

The Headsville (W.Va.) Post Office in the National Museum of History and Technology opens. It is staffed by postal clerks Franklin White, Sr., and Mary E. Wood, and features a unique hand cancellation postmark depicting the post office. The post office was originally constructed in the 1860s, but the furnishings and objects in the store recreate the 1890-1910 period.
