Image of a group of people walking down a street in Soná, Veraguas, Panama. The group is participating in the procession of Santa María Auxiliadora. In the center of the procession are three women holding a banner. The caption notes that Doña María de Martinelli is the woman on the far left in the center and that Doña María Luisa de Sosa is in the woman on the far right in the center. A priest is walking behind the women holding the banner. A church can be seen in the background of the image and the street is lined with electricity poles. The image was taken by Smithsonian Secretary Alexander Wetmore on May 24, 1953, during an ornithological expedition to Panama.
