  • Kjell Bloch Sandved of the Office of Exhibits, National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), at the commission of Porter Kier, then Director, NMNH, prepared these photographic materials to document personnel and activities of NMNH in 1975.
  • Dr. Donald Davis received his B.A. degree in Entomology at the University of Kansas in 1956. In 1962, he earned his Ph.D. at Cornell University under John G. Franclemont, formerly a USDA research entomologist at the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH.) Don was hired by J. F. Gates Clarke and the Smithsonian Institution as a research entomologist in Microlepidoptera in the fall of 1961. Curator of Lepidoptera, Don's various activities have involved him in fieldwork over much of the United States and in 40 countries resulting in the addition of nearly one million insect specimens to the National Museum.
