Summary

The sabbatical leave of Robert L. Stephenson, Acting Director of the River Basin Surveys, Washington office, took effect. This was the Smithsonian's first sabbatical leave, made possible under the new program initiated by Secretary S. Dillon Ripley in 1965. Stephenson is replaced by Warren W. Caldwell.
