Summary

Watson M. (Watson Mondell) Perrygo (1906-1984) sits at a table in the United States National Museum (USNM) Taxidermy Studio working on a bird specimen for exhibition. Perrygo began his career at the USNM, now the National Museum of Natural History, in 1927 as a scientific aide in the Division of Mammals and the taxidermy studio. In addition to the taxidermic and other collection-related work, Perrygo was sent on field trips to collect birds, mammals, and snakes unrepresented in the USNM. Iguanas, from the Parish-Smithsonian Expedition to Haiti in 1930, can be seen in a cage at left.
