Watson M. Perrygo, on the deck of the yacht "Esperanza," holds an iguana by the tail. Perrygo was a member of the Parish-Smithsonian Expedition, sponsored by Lee Parish and his parents, on a field collecting trip to Haiti. In Haiti, Perrygo collected bird and other natural history specimens for the National Museum of Natural History, and collected live reptiles and birds for the National Zoological Park.
