Summary

The Robert A. Brooks Award for Excellence in Administration is established at the Smithsonian. Brooks was Undersecretary of the Smithsonian from 1973 to 1976. Upon his death, contributions were made to the Robert A. Brooks Memorial Fund, and in 1977, an award was established to highlight Smithsonian staff who make notable contributions to the administration of the Institution.
