Summary

Alexander Wetmore, ornithologist and Sixth Secretary of the Smithsonian, returning from a morning afield, holds an oar in one hand and a hunting gun in his other hand. He went on many trips to Panama to collect bird specimens for his four volume work, The Birds of Panama. Behind him are huts belonging to the village Boca del Rio Indio, Colon.
