Summary

The Naturalists' Center opens as the final phase of the West Court project at the National Museum of Natural History, Natural History Building. The three levels of the facility house a museum shop, book store, lounge and dining rooms for the public, employees, and members of the Associate programs. Also located in the court is a Naturalists' Center where amateur naturalists study specimens and consult with Smithsonian staff members.
