In Japan from left to right are Takeo Kume, Edward P. Henderson (1898-1992), Kokichi Mikimoto, and William F. Foshag (1894-1956). In 1946 National Museum of Natural History mineral science curators Henderson and Foshag travelled to Japan to sort, count and appraise gemstones recovered by the United States Army. Henderson later traveled within Japan with Takeo Kume.
