  • The original negative number is 33579-A, but that negative has been lost.
  • Secretary Charles Greeley Abbot established the Division of Radiation and Organisms. Its function was to investigate the effects of radiation upon living organisms, mainly plants, and the division worked with the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory.
