Summary

A view of the north facade of the Smithsonian Institution Building from the northwest. The Joseph Henry's statue, installed in 1883, was located on the Mall at the intersection of three carriage paths, about 150 feet northwest of the Smithsonian Building. It faced the front of the West Wing of the building. A small group of children are playing a game sitting in the grass on the Mall
