From the top of the Washington Monument, the north side of the National Mall looking towards the United States Capitol Building, October 5, 1965. Buildings visible in the picture along the Mall include the National Museum of History and Technology (NMHT), now the National Museum of American History (NMAH); the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH); the National Gallery of Art (NGA). Other buildings on the the north side of Constitution Avenue are the buildings of the Federal Triangle and the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). Also visible, in the distance are the National Building Museum, Union Station, the Richard B. Russell Senate Office Building, the Supreme Court and the Library of Congress behind the Capitol, and the Robert F. Kennedy Stadium.
