Summary

An exhibit of the Archaic People on display in the North American Archeology Exhibit, which opened in November 1962, in the National Museum of Natural History. The exhibit contains various tools and items made of shells left by the simple hunters, food gatherers and fishermen who inhabited the southeastern United States from between 5,000 and 500 B.C.
