Exterior view of the north side of the United States National Museum building, now known as the Arts and Industries Building shows glass doors at the entrance. The north entrance was later redesigned by architects Hornblower and Marshall, c. 1902 to 1907. To the right of the entrance is the Syrian sarcophagus brought to the United States in 1839, resided at the National Institute gallery at the Patent Office Building before its transfer to the grounds outside the United States National Museum , May 19, 1883. Light posts flank steps leading to the entrance where two visitors are standing.
