Illustration (Fig. 47) in "A Handbook to the National Museum under the direction of the Smithsonian Institution, Washington" of a group of fur-seals on one of two pyramidal platforms in the center hall of the United States National Museum, now known as the Arts & Industries Building. Taxidermists based specimens on sketches from life made of these animals by Henry Elliott, while residing on the Pribilof Islands.
