Summary

From 1897-1903, galleries were built on the second floor of the United States National Museum (USNM), now the Arts and Industries Building (A&I), to provide more exhibit space. Pictured are men beside bricks to be used in the construction of the galleries. Sign says that 15,028 bricks will be used to create 67 square feet of gallery space.
