Summary

This photographic print is of a drawing of a herd of buffalo most likely at the National Zoological Park (NZP). Buffalo were brought to the Smithsonian Institution prior to the establishment of the NZP in order to study and rescue this dying breed of animals. The artist and date are unknown though it was first printed in a Washington newspaper sometime between 1887 and 1900.
