Summary

William M. Mann, Director of the National Zoological Park since 1925, retires at the statutory retirement age of 70. He is replaced by Theodore H. Reed, chief veterinarian of the Zoo since 1955, is named Acting Director on November 1, 1956, a position in which he serves until March 12, 1958, when he is appointed Director.
