Summary

"Plain advice to the public, to facilitate the making of their own wills," published in London by W. R. Goodluck in 1826. Found among James Smithson's personal effects and probably used by him to draft his will in 1826, in which he left the bequest that created the Smithsonian Institution. After they were transported to the United States in 1838, his personal effects were sent to the National Institute which had exhibit space in the U.S. Patent Office building. The Smithson personal effects were later transferred to the Smithsonian.
