This accession consists of the curatorial records of Emil Her Many Horses, Associate Curator, and documents his work on the Curatorial Council, his presentations and talks, collections acquisitions, and research activities. The Curatorial Council's primary function is to evaluate and make decisions on the acquisition and donation of items for the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) collections as well as to discuss the loans of NMAI collections to other institutions and formulate procedures for the acquisition of collections. Some materials date to when Emil Her Many Horses was in the History and Culture Office and the Office of Museum Research. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, presentations, talks, meeting agendas and notes, collections acquisitions records, images, clippings, and other related materials. Some materials are in digital format.
