This accession consists of Tumblr blogs maintained by the Smithsonian Latino Center.The Smithsonian Latino Center Tumblr blog, crawled on September 23, 2020, highlights Latino influences in art, science, and culture as well as collections, research, scholarship, exhibitions, and educational activities of the Smithsonian Institution as they relate to United States Latinos and Latin America. The blog, originally titled "Smithsonian Latino Virtual Museum: Learning in the 21st Century," launched in July 2013 and has been inactive since January 2018. The "Smithsonian Latino Center Dia de Los Muertos" Tumblr blog was crawled on September 17, 2020. Previously titled "Smithsonian LVM Día de Los Muertos Celebración," the blog celebrates and explores Latino cultural heritage through a holiday for honoring the dead and the cycle of life and death. The blog launched in October 2012 and has been inactive since November 2017. Due to technical issues, some content from these blogs may be missing or may not function as expected.
