Summary:

This accession consists of the Twitter hashtag search results for "#PandaCubdates" and "#PandaStory" as they existed on approximately August 27, 2020. The two hashtags were used to promote the birth of a cub (eventually named Xiao Qi Ji) to giant panda Mei Xiang at the National Zoological Park on August 21, 2020. Twitter is a microblogging platform and its posts are known as "tweets." Most official tweets from the National Zoological Park used both hashtags but many tweets from the public used one or the other. The hashtags were in use through approximately February 2021, but only tweets from the first week after the birth have been captured in this accession. Materials are in digital format.
