This accession consists of records documenting the administration of Smithsonian Institution Press (SIP) primarily during the tenures of Edward F. Rivinus, Director, 1976-1982, Felix C. Lowe, Director, 1982-1994, Peter F. Cannell, 1997-2002, and Vincent L. MacDonnell, Deputy Director, in regard to strategic planning, budget, personnel management, publishing projects, and professional activities. Some records also date from when SIP was known as Smithsonian Press/Smithsonian Productions.
