Summary

This accession consists of the email account of Ilka C. ("Candy") Feller, insect and plant ecologist at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, whose research focuses on the impact of nitrogen and phosphorus used in commercial fertilizers and the biology of animal-plant interactions in coastal wetlands, primarily mangrove ecosystems. She publishes scientific papers based on her research, as well as teaches marine ecology field courses and serves as project leader on mangrove ecosystem research programs around the world. In addition, Feller has served as chair of the Mangrove and Macrobenthos Meeting (MMM4), which is a series of international conferences on the understanding, conservation, and sustainable use of mangrove ecosystems.
