This accession consists of the subject files of Elizabeth Broun, Director, Smithsonian American Art Museum, 1989-2016. Among the topics covered are the museum budget, reaccreditation, research, strategic planning, and the restoration and renovation of the Patent Office Building. Some materials date to when the museum was known as the National Collection of Fine Arts and the National Museum of American Art and from before Broun was at the museum. Materials include correspondence and memoranda, proposals, reports, floor plans, schedules, architectural drawings, clippings, meeting agendas and minutes, budget records, images, brochures, and clippings.
