This accession consists of materials which document the work of the Smithsonian American Art Museum Commission primarily during the tenure of Elizabeth Broun, Director, Smithsonian American Art Museum, 1989-2016. Some materials date to when the museum was known as the National Gallery of Art, the National Collection of Fine Arts, and the National Museum of American Art. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, meeting agendas and minutes, reports, biographies, by-laws, schedules of events, invitations, brochures, presentations, images, notes, clippings, and other related materials.
