Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of media clippings compiled by the Office of External Affairs and Digital Strategy which document publicity for the museum's exhibitions, programs, staff, and events. Also included are materials documenting the Renwick Gallery. Some materials date to when the museum was known as the National Museum of American Art and from when the office was known as the Office of External Affairs. Of particular interest are the media clippings related to the 1991 exhibit, The West As America: Reinterpreting Images of the Frontier, 1820-1920, and the controversy that surrounded it. Materials consists of news releases, articles, and clippings.
