This accession consists of records maintained by Mary Augusta Thomas, who served as chair of the Smithsonian Material Culture Forum (SMCF) from 2010 to 2014. SMCF is an interdisciplinary group of Smithsonian scholars dedicated to the study and appreciation of the myriad aspects of material culture. Some records date to when the group was known as the Smithsonian Forum on Material Culture. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, and notes; meeting agendas and minutes; budget summaries; steering committee meetings information; SMCF quarterly meeting announcements, schedules, and speeches; guidelines; and reports.
