Summary:

This accession consists primarily of scrapbooks compiled by Jo Raymond on Archives of American Art (AAA) "Airlift" tours. The tours were arranged for contributing members of the AAA and brought attendees to countries around the world to visit art museums, private collections, art galleries, and other related attractions in support of AAA. Also, as part of the tours, attendees received lectures from art historians and curators and also often had the opportunity to meet with United States and international ambassadors. Raymond served as co-chair of The Archives Airlift Committee as well as served as Secretary for the AAA Board of Trustees. Materials include correspondence, travel itineraries, tour brochures, invitations, images, maps, picture postcards, clippings, and motion picture film.

Descriptive Entry
